We recently completed another round of impact testing on our full production units. We dropped a 100lb ram directly on a door locked with Haven to simulate un-assisted (kick) breach attempt on typicalresidential door.Watch how Haven holds up to the impact.
Home security will pave the way for the mainstream adoption of IoT devices. The logic is simple: Every person values their security, and IoT is giving them the means in an innovative, low-cost way. IoT (or, internet of things) is essentially the automation of everyday items and is incredibly valuable when you think about it in the home security market. A multitude of platforms allow you to automate your home security inside and out and have it all interconnected. Think of your motion lights triggering an outside security camera or any unexpected noise inside your house alerting a hub and...
In honor of ASIS this week, we are excited to announce our partnership with UniKey to bring you HAVEN Connect. HAVEN brings you the enhanced security of the wedge barrier to prevent break-ins and UniKey provides the access control system in the app to make the strongest and smartest preventative home lock on the market.
Studies show if your home is targeted once, a burglar is more likely to return a second time so preventing a break-in before it happens is critical to protecting your family and your belongings. Below are five steps to protecting your home from burglary:
Let’s assume your house has been burglarized once. A common assumption is that they got everything they came for. You may be a little more careful about locking your doors and windows and hiding whatever they missed but do you think they will come back?
Home security is a matter of personal responsibility. The more you know about how burglaries are committed, the better you are at securing your home and family. In order to best secure your home, it’s good to know how burglars actually work.
Before committing to buy, please use this test to determine if HAVEN will work on your door.
1. Your door opens inward.
Currently HAVEN will only work on doors that open inward, into the home. We do not currently support any doors that open to the exterior.
2. The Nickel Test
HAVEN is 0.8 inches high and should fit in the clearance path of most modern doors. A standard USD Nickel can be used to gauge the gap perfectly. Take a nickel, stand it on its end and make sure that it can pass under your door.
3. My floor will work with HAVEN.
HAVEN will need to sit firmly on a hard/clean surface: wood, vinyl, linoleum, ceramic tile, or concrete are all likely compatible.
Your door needs adjustment.
If you are into doing things yourself, check out our install guide for details on how to get your door ready for Haven.
Haven can work on a variety of different floor types. As long as Haven can be firmly secured to the subfloor, Haven will be fully functional. Ideally, the installation screws will be drilled at least one inch into the subfloor. Different floors may need different tools for installation.
If you are into doing things yourself, check out our install guide for options on how to get your floor ready for HAVEN.
Congratulations! You have passed the compatibility test!
Your door and/or floor may need some tweaking, but in most cases adjustments can be made to make HAVEN work for you. Please consult our install guide for more detailed information about installing HAVEN.
