Step 3: Select NFPA 1 Fire Code
Step 4: Choose edition (e.g., 2024) and click “View Free Access”
Step 5: (e.g.) Look up Section 14.5.2.2 – Locks

UPDATE CYCLE & LOCAL VARIATION
- ICC and NFPA publish new editions every 3 years
- Local jurisdictions may:
◦ Adopt the latest edition
◦ Use older versions (e.g., 2012 or 2018)
◦ Make local amendments
